57,550 disabled people and orphans were helped
(Baonghean.vn) - On the afternoon of January 26, the Association for the Protection of People with Disabilities and Orphans held a conference to summarize activities in 2017 and deploy tasks for 2018.
Nghe An has more than 220 thousand people with disabilities and orphans, most of whom are from poor, near-poor and disadvantaged households.

Over the past year, with the spirit of empathy, sharing, and “Love others as you love yourself”, the Association for the Protection of People with Disabilities and Orphans has called for and mobilized nearly 15 billion VND in money and goods.
From the above fund, the Association has helped 57,550 disabled people, orphans, and poor patients in the province.

At the conference, the Provincial Association for the Protection of the Disabled and Orphans also implemented a plan to organize a charity music night with the theme "Warmth of Nghe An People" to celebrate the 25th anniversary of the Association's founding, scheduled to take place in May 2018 to express gratitude and call for help for the disabled and poor orphans.
In 2018, the Association strives to raise over 15 billion VND in fund; 100% of people with severe and extremely severe disabilities will enjoy benefits according to regulations; 100% of people with disabilities and orphans will receive advice and access to State policies.

On this occasion, the Central Association for the Protection of the Disabled and Orphans awarded certificates of merit to 3 groups and 5 individuals who had outstanding achievements in the association's activities in 2017. The Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee also awarded certificates of merit to 3 groups and 3 individuals; the Association for the Protection of the Disabled and Orphans awarded certificates of merit to 16 groups and 25 individuals.
