(Baonghean.vn) - The most common breakdown of car air conditioners is slow cooling time, weak cooling; even only hot wind, no cold wind. Understanding common "diseases" and how to use them properly will help car owners save a large amount of money on air conditioner repair.

1. Air conditioner is not cool and wind is weak

When the air conditioner is not cool, the first reason could be that the temperature of the evaporator does not reach the optimal level and the second reason is that the amount of wind blowing through the evaporator is not enough, not keeping up with the increase in air temperature in the car.

How to handle:If the cause is due to poor operation of the condenser, you need to have a specialist diagnose and handle it. If the air flow is poor, it may be due to foreign objects getting into the ventilation duct or the filter is clogged, check the air conditioner filter.

2. The air conditioner is cool at first, then not cool.

This is a common phenomenon in cars that have been used for many years; the cause is that the air conditioner condenser is covered with a lot of dirt and is not cooled well, so when you first turn on the AC, it is cool, but then it becomes less so. In addition, a damaged cooling fan can also be the cause.

How to handle:Clean the air conditioner condenser with a specialized solution. Note that the condenser fins are very thin and soft, do not spray water with too much pressure. Check the cooling fan for problems.

3.The air smells bad

The air conditioning system in the car will blow out an unpleasant smell when the filter system is too dirty, or when dirt inside or insects get in and die inside. The air blown through the filter system will carry the smell and bacteria into the car.

How to handle:Remove the air conditioner filter and clean it or replace it, you can combine cleaning the car's air conditioner at a negligible cost. The air conditioner filter needs to be replaced every 20,000km or after 2 years of use.

4. Ice buildup in the air conditioning system

When the air conditioning system lacks refrigerant, the pressure in the tanks drops sharply, causing the boiling point of the gas to drop. The refrigerant will evaporate at low temperatures, making the temperature of the coil much lower than the condensing temperature of water. As a result, the water vapor in the air blowing through the coil will freeze on the surface of the pipes and gaps, leading to many other damages.

How to handle:Just refill the refrigerant with the right quality and type in a timely manner to keep the system operating stably.

5. Smells of gas and is not cold enough

If the car smells of gas and the cold is not deep, the cause is a leak in the cooling system. In fact, the air conditioning system is a closed circuit and rarely leaks if it has not been carelessly interfered with due to a previous incident.

How to handle:If you are not an expert, do not attempt to intervene in this problem yourself. Immediately take the vehicle to an authorized service station or reputable service workshop for inspection and final settlement.

6. Air conditioner turns on and off continuously

The on/off of the car air conditioner is controlled by sensors and switches. The common cause of this problem is due to the gas pressure in the system exceeding the recommended level. When detecting abnormal pressure in the cooling cycle, the sensor system will disconnect the compressor clutch to protect the system components.

How to handle:To find the exact cause and the most effective solution for the above phenomenon, bring your car to a reputable service center for advice and repair.
