1. Ly Cong Uan (Year of the Dog - 974)

Ly Cong Uan, originally from Bac Ninh, was the first king of the Ly Dynasty (referred to as Thai To). Intelligent, resourceful, and skilled in both military and literary arts, he was recommended for a position in the government, rising to the rank of Commander of the Imperial Guard, in charge of the royal army.

The Early Le Dynasty weakened, and Le Ngoc Trieu died in 1009. With widespread popular support and the backing of his officials, he was enthroned in 1010, establishing the Ly Dynasty and moving the capital from Hoa Lu (Ninh Binh) to Dai La (Hanoi), renaming it Thang Long. He also implemented strong reforms in public administration, the economy, and culture.

2. Tran Quoc Tuan (Binh Tuat year - 1226)

Tran Quoc Tuan, originally from Nam Dinh, was a renowned general of the Tran Dynasty and a national hero. He held the rank of Commander-in-Chief, leading the entire army. A military genius, he led the Tran Dynasty's army and people to defeat three invasions by the Mongol invaders, the most powerful empire in the world at that time, firmly defending the nation's territory.

3. Nguyen Chich (Year of the Dog - 1382)

Nguyen Chich, originally from Dong Ninh commune, Dong Son district, Thanh Hoa province, was a renowned general and founding hero of the Later Le Dynasty. Born into poverty, he was strong, resourceful, and passionately patriotic. He rallied thousands of people in the region, building fortifications and ramparts to establish a resistance base against the Ming invaders. Later, he led his troops to support Le Loi until the Lam Son Uprising achieved complete victory in 1427.

Having devoted himself to serving three Lê dynasty emperors (Thái Tổ, Thái Tông, Nhân Tông), he earned the title of Grand Minister with the position of General Manager, renowned for his military achievements in defeating the Ming army in the North, the Champa invaders in the South, and suppressing numerous internal rebellions.

4. Le Tu Thanh (Nhâm Tuất - 1442)

Le Tu Thanh, originally from Thanh Hoa province, was the most outstanding king of the Later Le Dynasty, under the reign name Le Thanh Tong. He was extremely intelligent, refined, and possessed both talent and virtue, ascending to the throne at the age of 18.

With comprehensive reforms in economics, politics, culture, and society, his reign (1460-1497) is considered the golden age of the Vietnamese feudal regime. 5. Duong Tri Trach (Binh Tuat - 1586)

Mr. Duong Tri Trach was from Yen Huy village, Bat Trac commune, Thien Loc district (now Yen Loc commune, Can Loc district, Ha Tinh province) and was a renowned official during the reign of Le Kinh Tong.

He passed the doctoral examination in 1619 and held various official positions, eventually rising to the rank of Tham Tung (Prime Minister). Throughout his more than 40 years in charge of government affairs, he was always respected for his upright character, respect for the law, strictness, and fairness.

6. Nguyen Cong Tru (Mau Tuat year - 1778)

Nguyen Cong Tru, originally from Uy Vien village, now Xuan Giang commune, Nghi Xuan district, Ha Tinh province, was a renowned scholar of the Nguyen dynasty.

He passed the imperial examination with the highest rank in 1819 and served as an official in various fields including education, justice, agriculture, military, and diplomacy in many places.

He held many positions and experienced numerous promotions and demotions: at one point he was appointed Governor-General of Hai An, and at another he was exiled to serve in the army in Quang Ngai. He made significant contributions to the reclamation of land from the sea in Tien Hai (Thai Binh) and Kim Son (Ninh Binh), and in suppressing rebellions and uprisings. His straightforward, decisive, yet romantic and humorous nature, along with his diverse life, has given rise to many interesting anecdotes.
