6 points expected to be adjusted in the 2019 National High School Exam regulations
Ms. Nguyen Thi Kim Phung - Director of the Department of Higher Education, Ministry of Education and Training, said that in 2019 there will be some changes in university admissions compared to 2018.
On December 28, Ms. Nguyen Thi Kim Phung - Director of the Department of Higher Education gave her comments on enrollment in 2019.
Accordingly, the Director of the Department of Higher Education proposed 6 points that are expected to be specifically adjusted:
Schools that use national high school exam results must carry out all steps of the admission process.
Provide full information on quality assurance conditions and the rate of full-time students having jobs within 12 months of graduation.
Military candidates who have been stationed for 18 months or more in a place where there is a change in regional priority policies will enjoy priority according to the area with the longer period of stationing.
According to the 2019 admission regulations, candidates who have confirmed their enrollment will not be allowed to apply to other schools/next rounds.
For health-related majors that have a practice certificate: Based on the results of the national high school exam, the Ministry of Education and Training determines the threshold to ensure input quality for schools to develop admission plans; consider admitting graduates with excellent 12th grade academic performance.
Schools receive and keep the original copy of the National High School Exam Results Certificate.
Candidates who have confirmed their admission are not allowed to apply to other schools/next rounds.
Discussing the 2019 enrollment orientation, Dr. Nguyen Thi Kim Phung said that the Ministry of Education and Training will develop mechanisms and policies to ensure quality, efficiency, and fairness in enrollment; stream and attract excellent students to study pedagogy. Develop a function to publicize enrollment and student enrollment databases. Review and complete enrollment software and enrollment databases: unify databases and connect between software.
In addition, the Ministry of Education and Training will review and supplement the database of policies on regional and target priorities. Strengthen propaganda, industry selection, and career guidance; candidates will clearly understand their rights and responsibilities in participating in the admission process.
Ms. Phung also said that the Ministry encourages schools to participate in admission groups to make it easier for schools and the general admission system to filter out fake candidates and to select candidates. In 2018, the Northern admission group had 53 participating schools, and the Southern group had 86 schools.
According to Ms. Phung, the Ministry is considering allowing candidates to be admitted to many schools and then choose the school to enroll in, not limiting admission to only one school as is currently the case. The Ministry is considering this option for consideration in the near future.
