6 people in a family were hunted down, 4 people died
Dong took a knife and killed his brother's family. Two people died on the spot. Three people were injured and taken to the emergency room, but two of them later died.
On the afternoon of September 1, according to a source from the Criminal Police Department (PC02) of Hanoi City Police, two seriously injured victims in the case died at the hospital, bringing the total number of deaths in the case to 4.
The identities of the four victims who died in the incident were identified as Mr. Nguyen Van Hai (born in 1969, Dong's younger brother) and his daughter Nguyen Thi Bac (born in 1991), who died on the spot; Ms. Doan Thi Viet (born in 1971, Mr. Hai's wife) and Mr. Hai's granddaughter Nguyen Huyen My (born in 2018), who died at the hospital. Currently, his daughter-in-law Do Thi Nhung (born in 1995) is being treated at the hospital.

Previously, on the morning of September 1, a clip recorded a scene of a man holding an object suspected to be a knife, repeatedly slashing each person who had fallen. Some of the victims collapsed on the spot, but when they continued to resist, the subject chased them to the end.
Initial information, due to family conflicts over land, Nguyen Van Dong (born 1966, in Hong Ha commune) used a knife to slash 6 family members, of which 2 died on the spot, 1 died on the way to the emergency room, and the remaining 2 died at the hospital.
According to initial verification, Dong has a family living in the area and has no criminal record.

Mr. Nguyen Dinh Da - Chairman of the People's Committee of Hong Ha Commune, Dan Phuong District, Hanoi said that it is currently impossible to determine whether the subject was high on drugs or not, but in the incident there was a conflict between brothers in the family about land.
Immediately after the serious crime occurred, authorities were present, took the injured to the hospital for emergency treatment, and arrested Nguyen Van Dong.
