600 kg of uninspected piglet meat transported on a passenger bus.
(Baonghean.vn) - On the morning of June 13th, on National Highway 1A, in the section passing through Dien Hong commune, Dien Chau Traffic Police Station apprehended a case involving the transportation of 600 kg of pre-processed piglet meat without quarantine certificates.
During an inspection of a South-North passenger bus, license plate 75B-00575, driven by Ngo Van Ty, residing in Hue City, Thua Thien Hue province, the Dien Chau Traffic Police Station discovered 8 styrofoam boxes containing 600 kg of pre-processed piglet meat. The driver confessed to transporting the meat for a customer from Quang Tri to Thai Binh for sale.

Driver Ngo Van Ty was fined 7 million VND by authorities for transporting animal products out of the province without a quarantine certificate. The entire shipment was confiscated and handed over to the Dien Chau Livestock and Veterinary Station for processing according to the law.
Although African swine fever has now broken out in 18 out of 39 communes and towns in Dien Chau district, the transportation of pork products through the area remains complicated.
