(Baonghean.vn) - In the first six months of the year, fishermen in Nghe An province caught over 95,000 tons of seafood, with an estimated value of nearly 2 trillion VND.

Nghe An province has advantages in developing a marine economy, primarily through the exploitation and fishing of seafood. The majority of seafood is caught in offshore waters.
According to information from the Fisheries Sub-Department, the seafood catch in June reached nearly 20,000 tons, equivalent to 11.46% of the annual plan and 109.24% compared to the same period last year.

In the first six months of the year, the production reached over 95,000 tons, with an estimated value of nearly 2 trillion VND, equivalent to 109.60% compared to the same period last year, and achieving 55.91% of the annual plan.
This includes 149 tons of shrimp, nearly 15,000 tons of selected fish, nearly 37,000 tons of mixed fish, nearly 1,200 tons of various types of squid, nearly 400 tons of crab, and the remainder being miscellaneous fish and other species.
Nghe An province plans to harvest 170,000 tons of seafood in 2021.
