6 "unrivaled" weapons that the Russian army is about to receive.
In the coming years, the Russian Army will receive new, modern weapon systems that are "unrivaled in the world."
In a speech at the Military Academy of the General Staff, Russian Deputy Prime Minister Yury Borisov stated that the Russian Army is undergoing a large-scale modernization process. The force will be equipped with the most advanced weapons systems in the world.
These systems will enter service between 2018 and 2027, including six cutting-edge weapons that are said to be "unrivaled in the world," even in the future.
Sarmat intercontinental ballistic missile
The Sarmat intercontinental ballistic missile (ICBM) is one of the most advanced systems. This ICBM is part of the new arsenal unveiled by President Vladimir Putin in his state of the union address on March 1st.

Sarmat is believed to be capable of reaching anywhere in the world. Some Western media outlets have called it a "doomsday weapon," warning that it could easily penetrate US missile defense systems.
Sarmat is currently undergoing testing. According to the Russian Ministry of Defense, Sarmat has proven effective in the pre-flight and early flight phases. In May 2018, Russian President Vladimir Putin revealed that Sarmat was expected to be deployed in 2020.
Sarmat is designed to carry the Avangard hypersonic warhead. The Avangard can fly at Mach 20 and can withstand temperatures up to 2,000 degrees Celsius generated by friction in the air.
Fifth-generation fighter jet
ICBMs carrying nuclear warheads are not the only weapons being added to Russia's new arsenal. The Russian military is expected to receive more conventional weapons that are equally impressive. One of them is the fifth-generation Su-57 fighter jet.
In late June 2018, the Russian military signed a contract to purchase 12 Su-57s. These fifth-generation fighter jets are scheduled to be delivered to the armed forces in 2019.

The Su-57, with its advanced avionics system, enables it to have autonomous combat capabilities to assist the pilot. The Su-57 is designed to replace the Su-27 multirole fighter aircraft.
The Su-57's primary weapons are concealed internally to reduce radar detectability, but it can also carry additional weapons under its wings.
The Su-57 is expected to be equipped with new engines specifically designed for this fifth-generation aircraft. (According to the magazine)Military openThe Su-57 has a relative advantage over the F-35 in terms of speed, range, sensors, missile carrying capacity, combat range, and maneuverability.
T-14 Armata tank
On the ground, the Russian Army will soon possess an extremely powerful weapon: the T-14 Armata tank. By 2020, the Russian Armed Forces will receive approximately 100 T-14 Armata tanks. This "war machine" will have a fully automated, unmanned turret, a 125mm cannon with a rate of fire of 12 rounds per minute, and the ability to hit targets up to 7km away.
The T-14 Armata is also "armored" with multiple layers of steel, helping to protect those inside and ensure their survival in the most dangerous situations. High-resolution cameras provide the tank operators with external images.
S-500
The S-400 long-range missile defense system – the "backbone" of Russia's air defense forces – may be replaced by a more formidable weapon in the not-too-distant future.
The S-400 is one of Russia's most advanced air defense systems, designed to destroy targets within a range of 400 km and missiles from a distance of 60 km. The S-400 can use at least four types of interceptor missiles, suitable for a variety of targets. The S-400 can simultaneously intercept up to 36 targets.
Currently, many countries are very interested in buying Russia's S-400, including Türkiye, a NATO member.

However, Almaz-Antey, the manufacturer of the S-400, says it is developing an even more advanced system than the S-400, called the S-500 “Prometheus”.
According to some reports, the S-500 is capable of hitting targets within a range of 480 km and can successfully intercept hypersonic missiles, as well as shoot down F-22 and F-35 fighter jets. Currently, the S-500 is still in the development phase and may be deployed in 2020.
Nudol missile shield
In the face of the US expanding its missile defense systems on an unprecedented scale globally, Russia has also decided to upgrade its missile shield, particularly the system used to protect the capital Moscow. This new interceptor system is called Nudol. However, very few people know its exact specifications.
According to TASS, the Nudol missile shield is capable of protecting Russian territory from a multi-warhead nuclear attack and intercepting all modern ICBMs. According to some reports, Nudol interceptor missiles are even capable of shooting down satellites.
The Tirada-2s satellite jamming station
Last but not least on the list of six cutting-edge Russian weapons, the Tirada-2s is mentioned.
Although its name may not sound as impressive as the Su-57 or S-500, this new device is crucial in any conflict because of its ability to jam satellite communications, potentially forcing the enemy to lose even their most advanced communication systems.
The Tirada-2 could significantly alter the balance of power in modern warfare operations.
