60% of students choose the wrong major
Mr. Tran Anh Tuan - Deputy Director of the Center for Human Resource Demand Forecasting and Labor Market Information of Ho Chi Minh City, said that through a survey of students and their careers, the rate of students choosing the wrong major is about 60%, only 5% of students have knowledge about the major they study.

In particular, 75% of students lack understanding of the industry and profession they have chosen. That leads to the result that after graduation, only 50% of students find jobs that match their abilities. According to Mr. Tuan, Ho Chi Minh City has a gap between market demand and the desires of learners, as well as the training reality at schools. Most students want to go to university, while the actual demand of businesses is a serious shortage of technical workers.
Statistics on human resource demand in Ho Chi Minh City in 2019 show that the service sector accounts for 70%, the construction industry accounts for 28%, and the agriculture sector accounts for 2%. According to forecasts, the current highly skilled and qualified human resources are not enough to meet current and future market needs./.
