63 medical staff of Hanoi Obstetrics Hospital quarantined, there is no lockdown of the entire hospital
Dr. Nguyen Thi Thu Ha - Deputy Director of Hanoi Obstetrics and Gynecology Hospital said that related to the 243rd Covid-19 patient (BN243) in Me Linh, Vinh Phuc, 63 medical staff of Hanoi Obstetrics and Gynecology Hospital have been quarantined.
Of these, 17 close contacts were quarantined at facility 2, and 46 cases of close contacts were quarantined at home at facility 2 of this hospital.
According to the Deputy Director of Hanoi Obstetrics and Gynecology Hospital, there are currently a total of 17 F1 cases (direct contact with patients) and 46 F2 cases (contact with F1) that have been quarantined.
Accordingly, on April 4, Covid-19 patient 243 brought a relative to Hanoi Obstetrics and Gynecology Hospital for examination. On the screening form, patient 243 said that he had been to Bach Mai Hospital for more than 14 days (since March 12), so he checked the "no" box. Therefore, the patient was allowed to accompany and take care of his relative like the relatives of normal patients.
On April 5, the patient returned to Hanoi Obstetrics Hospital. At this time, the number of medical staff who had contact with the patient was larger.
On April 6, patient 243 was confirmed positive for Covid-19. Patient 243 reported his medical history to the authorities, who then notified Hanoi Obstetrics and Gynecology Hospital.

The hospital has also taken samples from all patients, including relatives of patient 243 who are still hospitalized, for testing. If the test is negative, close contacts will still have to be quarantined for 14 days. People who have been in contact with close contacts will be quarantined at home.
Previously, on the evening of April 6, the Ministry of Health announced 4 patients infected with Covid-19, including Patient 243, a male (47 years old, Vietnamese nationality, residing in Me Linh commune, Me Linh district, Hanoi). On March 12, the patient took his wife to the Department of Immunology - Allergy (Bach Mai Hospital) for a medical examination and returned home the same day, eating at a restaurant on Giai Phong street opposite the hospital gate. He has not returned to the hospital since then.
On March 30, the patient reported to the health station and was quarantined at home in Ha Loi (Me Linh district, Hanoi), showing no symptoms. The patient had close contact with family members, relatives and business associates. On April 4, his sample was taken, and on April 6, the Hanoi Center for Disease Control tested positive for SARS-CoV-2.
Facility 2 of Hanoi Obstetrics and Gynecology Hospital, where 17 medical staff are being quarantined, is located in Hai Ba Trung District. It is known that this facility was previously proposed by the Board of Directors of Hanoi Obstetrics and Gynecology Hospital to the City and Hanoi Department of Health to use Facility 2 of the Hospital as the quarantine facility of Hanoi Obstetrics and Gynecology Hospital in case of infected or suspected infected people to reduce the load on Facility 1. Currently, Facility 2 of the Hospital has a capacity of about 100-150 beds.
