64 candidates who cheated on exam scores in Hoa Binh were admitted to about 20 universities.

According to Mr. Bui Trong Dac, Director of the Department of Education and Training of Hoa Binh, the department has completed updating the scores for candidates after the assessment results.

Accordingly, the Department of Education and Training of Hoa Binh sent a list of cheating candidates to about 20 universities and colleges.

It is known that this unit does not know how many candidates are studying at which schools, nor is it clear whether any candidates are studying at police or military schools.

Currently, the list of candidates has been sent by the Department of Education and Training of Hoa Binh to the Department of Schools - Ministry of Public Security, Department of Training - Ministry of National Defense.

Defendants Nguyen Khac Tuan and Do Manh Tuan were arrested for "Abusing position and power while performing official duties" related to the 2018 national high school exam in Hoa Binh province.

Previously, based on the investigation results of the security agency, the Ministry of Education and Training said that there were 64 candidates, including 63 candidates in 2018 and one candidate in 2017 from Hoa Binh, whose scores were changed, meaning the assessment scores were lower than the announced scores.

There were 56 candidates with 140 multiple choice tests whose scores had been changed. Of which, the subject with the highest decrease in score was 9.25 points. Of which, there was a candidate whose score in 3 subjects increased by the highest of 26.45 points.

The representative of the Ministry of Education and Training assessed that this was a very serious intervention that distorted the exam results. The candidates were the ones who suffered and it had a negative effect on society.

Regarding how candidates with high scores currently studying at universities and colleges will be handled, Mr. Mai Van Trinh, Director of the Department of Quality Management (Ministry of Education and Training), said that enrollment is the autonomy of the schools.

The Ministry of Education and Training will have further instructions, following and reaching consensus, but in the spirit of following two regulations: Examination regulations and admission regulations.

According to Mr. Trinh, there is no separate separation between the Police and Military schools and they are all handled according to regulations.
