The Vietnam Heritage Tree Council has just recognized a population of 4 species (including 7 trees) in the Ngu Hanh Son scenic complex (Hoa Hai ward, Ngu Hanh Son district, Da Nang city) as Vietnam Heritage Trees.
The 7 heritage trees in the Marble Mountains that have just been recognized include a banyan tree over 600 years old, which is also the largest banyan tree in the Marble Mountains complex, located behind Linh Ung Pagoda on Thuy Son Mountain; a banyan tree over 200 years old behind Tam Thai Pagoda on Thuy Son Mountain; 2 banyan trees in front of Tam Thai Pagoda, including 1 tree 240 years old and 1 tree over 350 years old; a cluster of 3 soapberry trees in the Tang Chon cave area in the south of Thuy Son Mountain, which are between 160 and 210 years old.

The two banyan trees in Ngu Hanh Son are located in a harmonious position between the natural landscape and the “Quoc Tu” pagoda. The trees have a beautiful shape and shade the pagoda yard. In addition, the trees also carry a strong folk legend. |

These two banyan trees are determined to be 350 years old (female banyan tree) and 240 years old (male banyan tree). |

The banyan tree is located on the eastern slope of Thuy Son mountain behind Linh Ung Pagoda and its canopy covers the entire roof of the pagoda. For hundreds of years, the tree has remained green and lush, receiving special attention, care and protection from the Management Board of Ngu Hanh Son Scenic Area and the pagoda. |

The 205-year-old Thi tree is located behind Tam Thai Pagoda, on Thuy Son Mountain, Ngu Hanh Son Scenic Area. Currently, the tree is still green, flowering and bearing fruit every year. |

The cluster of 3 soapberry trees is located in Tang Chon cave, the southern slope of Thuy Son mountain, Ngu Hanh Son complex. The cluster of soapberry trees is quite old (160-210 years old), has a large diameter, and is located inside the cave entrance. Currently, the vitality of the 3 soapberry trees is normal, however, trees 2 and 3 are shaded by the banyan tree. |
