7 years in prison for motorcycle thief.
(Baonghean.vn) -On the morning of August 27, the People's Court of Tuong Duong District sentenced Luong Van Luu (born in 1995) to 7 years in prison for robbery.
The incident occurred at 11:30 AM on May 22, 2013, when Luong Van Luu hired a motorbike from Kha Van May to travel from Hoa Binh town (Tuong Duong district) to Ban Ve village, Yen Na commune. Upon reaching the Doc Moi area, taking advantage of the deserted stretch of road, Luu asked May to stop so he could relieve himself. Once May had completely stopped, Luu pulled out a sharp knife from his pocket, held it to May's neck, demanded May get off the motorbike, and then took the keys and sped off towards Ban Ve village and Quy Hop.
Luong Van Luu is only 18 years old, but in just two months, he committed two robberies. Previously, on May 29, 2013, Luong Van Luu was sentenced by the Quy Hop District People's Court to 6 months imprisonment with a 12-month probation period, also for the crime of robbing a motorbike.
This case serves as advice for families on educating their children and a warning to those who operate hybrid motorbikes in mountainous areas.
