74% of Russians are ready to vote for Mr. Putin
A survey shows that nearly 74% of Russians are ready to vote for Mr. Putin in the 2018 presidential election.

The Russian Public Opinion Research Center (VTSIOM) today announced the results of a survey showing that nearly 74% of Russians are ready to vote for Vladimir Putin if the presidential election is held on January 21.Tassreport
The survey was conducted from January 8 to 10, via telephone with 1,000 people. The margin of error is 1.8%.
About 7.2% of survey respondents said they chose Communist Party candidate Pavel Grudinin, while 4.7% supported Liberal Democratic Party leader Vladimir Zhirinovsky.
Voter turnout in the 2018 Russian presidential election is expected to reach 67%, with 81.1% of them choosing to vote for Mr. Putin, according to another survey by VTSIOM.
The Russian presidential election is scheduled to take place on March 18. On December 27, Mr. Putin submitted his re-election application to the Russian Central Election Commission (CEC). He will run as an independent candidate. Opposition leader Alexei Navalny was banned by the CEC from running for president, in connection with a suspended prison sentence he served.
