Upon arrival in Hatay province, the delegation will coordinate with international rescue forces to conduct search and rescue operations under the rubble and collapsed buildings as well as provide medical assistance to earthquake victims.
Because the rescue location is far away, the arrival of the Vietnamese delegation with relief goods becomes even more meaningful.
The Vietnamese delegation has 100 soldiers from the Ministry of Public Security and the Ministry of National Defense participating in humanitarian assistance and searching for stranded people. Along with Vietnam, 70 countries with more than 8,000 rescue workers are supporting Türkiye.
There have been two aftershocks following the earthquake, requiring rescue operations to be both urgent and careful to ensure safety.
On February 12, at the Syrian Embassy in Russia, representatives of the Vietnamese community in Russia handed over a shipment of canned food for children and adults as well as some essential goods to Syria to help victims of the recent devastating earthquake.
Responding to the call of the Syrian Embassy in Russia, in just 2 days, Vietnamese people living in Moscow for a long time organized a campaign and raised donations to buy instant food and essential goods to support the victims of the earthquake disaster with a total value of about 500,000 rubles (7,000 USD).
