8/17 tigers seized in Yen Thanh district died of unknown causes

According to the leader of the Environmental Police Department, 8/17 tigers seized on the morning of August 4 in Do Thanh commune, Yen Thanh district, died of unknown causes.

(Baonghean.vn) - To avoid being detected by the authorities, these tigers were secretly transported from Laos when they were young. The owner of the facility built a closed basement system right on the premises, each basement has an average area of 80m2 to 120m2 for captivity. At the time of capture, each tiger weighed from 200kg to 265kg.
Currently, these tigers are being frozen to serve the investigation according to the provisions of law.
According to the source, after investigating and seizing the 17 tigers mentioned above, the case was handed over to the Economic Police Department of the Provincial Police and Yen Thanh District Police to handle the case.

Previously, in the early morning of August 4, the Environmental Police Department of Nghe An Province Police coordinated with relevant units to catch red-handed a number of tiger breeding facilities in people's homes in Do Thanh Commune (Yen Thanh).
Initially, the authorities seized 17 adult tigers. Accordingly, in the morning of the same day, the above mentioned tigers were transported to Muong Thanh Dien Lam Ecological Zone (Dien Chau) for care and investigation.
