To give their children a meaningful, happy and successful life, parents need to abandon the unhealthy way of educating their children that is very popular today.

1. Don't make your child the "Center of the Universe":

Many parents’ lives revolve around their children. But unintentionally, children think that they are the “center of the universe”. When they grow up, these children only know themselves and think that they have the right to do everything. Therefore, the role of parents at this time is to help children focus on what they can do instead of what they own.

2. Do not accept your child's failure mentality:

Being cut from the school team or falling behind in a subject doesn’t make a child a failure. Instead of letting your child wallow in misery or exaggerate his or her bad luck, encourage your child to turn adversity into strength. What you need to do is help your child find a way to respond positively to any situation.

3. Teach your children not to be afraid when making decisions:

Overprotective parents stunt their children’s growth. Wise parents see themselves as guides, not protectors. They allow their children to go out into the world and experience life, despite their own fears.

4. Don't overemphasize comprehensiveness:

High expectations are good, but too high expectations from children can be counterproductive. No one can be perfect. Instead of pushing their children to be better than everyone else, wise parents focus on helping them become the best version of themselves.

5. Teach children to be responsible:

Many parents think, “My child is too young to do anything.” But wise parents want their children to help them and learn the skills they need to become responsible citizens. They proactively teach their children to take responsibility for their choices and assign them age-appropriate tasks.

6. Allow your child to make mistakes:

A child may get a few questions wrong on homework or get a bad grade in a class. But that’s okay. Mistakes can be some of the best lessons in life. Wise parents let their children make mistakes, face the natural consequences of those mistakes, and learn from them.

7. Don't confuse discipline with punishment:

Punishment is making children suffer for their mistakes. Discipline is teaching them how to do better in the future. When parents give children consequences, it teaches them to be stricter with themselves.

8. Don't give in to bad habits:

Giving in when a child cries or doing chores for them is the quickest and easiest way. But this kind of “shortcut” will teach children bad habits and lack of discipline. Every time a child whines and gets what they want, they will use this attitude as a tool to get what they want. Therefore, parents’ giving in inadvertently create bad habits for their children.
