Eight villages with traditional crafts registered for recognition as craft villages in 2015.
(Baonghean.vn) - In the first six months of 2015, the Provincial Cooperative Union received applications from 8 villages with traditional crafts in the locality for recognition as craft villages in 2015.
These include: Yen Phu ornamental flower and plant village in Minh Thanh commune, Yen Thanh district; Giap Quan traditional carpentry village in My Thanh commune, Yen Thanh district; Ban Nhang mulberry cultivation, silkworm rearing, and brocade weaving village in Chau Cuong commune, Quy Hop district; Trung Hau carpentry village in Tan Son commune, Do Luong district; Thai Minh brocade weaving village in Tien Ky commune, Tan Ky district; Nam Cuong sugarcane molasses production village in Quang Phong ward, Thai Hoa town; Ban Mong brocade weaving village in Cam Muon commune, Que Phong district; and Na Nhang domestic rattan and bamboo weaving village in Tien Phong commune, Que Phong district. Currently, the Provincial Cooperative Alliance is advising and supporting the development of these units from traditional craft villages into craft villages.

At the same time, the Provincial Cooperative Union guided 7 craft villages recognized in 2014 to receive their craft village recognition certificates, bringing the total number of craft villages in the province to 133. In the first six months of 2015, small-scale handicraft production and craft villages remained relatively stable, with export turnover reaching 8 million USD. The development of craft villages has contributed to poverty reduction, improved the lives of workers, and the implementation of the new rural development program in localities.
