8 great tips for car users
"Miracles" from nail polish, sun protection with acrylic sheets, anti-sleep with lemon... are extremely useful tips for car users.
No need to go to an expensive repair center, you can protect your car when you know a few tips below.
1. Miracle from nail polish
If your car only has a small scratch, instead of going to a repair shop to repaint it, you can choose a cheap but equally effective way: using nail polish.
All you need to do is choose a nail polish that matches the color of your car and paint it over the scratch.
Nail polish is also very effective in preventing windshield cracks from getting any bigger. You should apply 2-3 coats of nail polish for better results.
2. Sunshade with acrylic sheet
This is a method that pilots use very often to avoid being affected by the sun.
You can also apply this trick on very sunny days.
Acrylic sheet is easy to attach to windshield and provides excellent UV protection.
3. Fight sleepiness with lemon
If you have to drive a long distance and feel sleepy, you should eat a slice of lemon or hold it under your tongue.
Lemon placed under the tongue has a stimulating effect on the nerves and fights drowsiness like caffeine.
However, it is best not to drive while impaired.
4. Clean the cup holder
Cup holders are sometimes too small and difficult to clean out dust and tiny debris in them.
Just place a cupcake wrapper in there, and the little bits of trash and dust will collect in the mold. When you need to clean your car, just take the wrapper out and you’re done.
Placing the cupcake wrapper also helps raise the bottom of the drawer, making it easier to remove the cup.
5. The secret to parking "perfectly"
This trick is especially useful for people who have been driving for a short time.
Hang a tennis ball in your garage in your parking spot. Position it so that the windshield just touches the ball. This will help you get a sense of the size of your car and keep you from driving farther than you need to.
6. How to check oil quality
No need to go to repair centers, you can check the oil quality yourself with just a piece of white paper.
First, use a tool to get the oil from your car, drop it on a piece of white paper and leave it at room temperature for 2 hours.
Then check the results. If the oil seeps evenly and smoothly, it means the oil in the car is still good. On the contrary, if the seepage is uneven, has metal fragments or a dark color in the center, it means you are using low-quality oil, there is water in the oil, or some parts inside the car are damaged.
7. Check gasoline quality
Similar to testing oil, you can test the quality of gasoline yourself by dropping a few drops on the bottom of a bowl (or a light-colored, non-flammable surface), and lighting it.
Then, observe the bottom of the bowl if there is brown residue and dark stains, it means your gasoline has impurities.
8. Check if there is water in the gasoline
Take a little gasoline and put it in a glass, add a few drops of manganese solution. Shake well and observe. If the manganese crystals dissolve and the gasoline turns purple or pink, it means there is water in the gasoline.
