1. North Korea launches intercontinental ballistic missile

US Defense Secretary James Mattis said that in the early morning of November 29, North Korea launched its most modern intercontinental ballistic missile to date.

According to the BBC, the Pentagon previously said that the North Korean missile flew 1,000 km before falling into the Sea of ​​Japan. South Korea's Yonhap news agency reported that the launch was carried out at the Pyongsong test site. Meanwhile, the South Korean military announced that the North Korean missile reached an altitude of 4,500 km and flew 960 km.

Speaking at the White House while briefing President Trump, Mr Mattis said: 'Objectively speaking, the missile flew higher than any previous launch.'

US President Donald Trump said he will monitor the situation and affirmed that he will not change the country's "existing" policy on the North Korea issue.

2. Türkiye issues arrest warrants for more than 300 soldiers linked to cleric Gulen

Turkish prosecutors have issued arrest warrants for 360 people in a campaign against alleged supporters of US-based cleric Fethullah Gulen, the state news agency said on November 29.

The arrest warrants apply to 333 soldiers, most of whom are on duty, and 27 civilians. These people are suspected of participating in a network of supporters of cleric Gulen in the army.

According to the news agency, the operation to arrest suspects is underway. Turkey accuses cleric Gulen of being behind the failed coup in July 2017.

3. Mr. Obama returns with a tour of Asia
