80,000 Russian soldiers participate in military exercises in the Far East.

Russia's Eastern Military District began a large-scale exercise on the night of July 12th, involving more than 80,000 soldiers to test their combat readiness. This is the largest exercise since the Soviet era.

More than 1,000 armored vehicles, approximately 130 aircraft and helicopters, and dozens of warships participated in the exercise. Military units from Kamchatka, Sakhalin, and Khabarovsk took part.

The first task for these units was to march to the location specified in Moscow's secret orders in the shortest possible time. This combat readiness check began at 8:00 a.m. (local time).

Governor Konstantin Sidenko, commander of the Eastern Military District based in Khabarovsk, said that at the start of the exercises, all combat units were deployed to the training site.

Infantry troops were deployed to remote areas where they would conduct tactical combat exercises involving live firing. Dozens of ships were dispatched to Sakhalin, loaded with military equipment, tanks, and armored personnel carriers.

Since 1991, Russia has not conducted any military exercises of this scale.
