9 rescued Nghe An fishermen ask to stay and search for relatives

(Baonghean.vn) - Deputy Minister of Transport Nguyen Van Cong was present at the Forward Command Center - Maritime Search and Rescue Coordination Center Region I (Hai Phong) to direct the search and rescue of 9 missing sailors from Nghe An.
On the evening of June 29, leaders of Tien Thuy commune (Quynh Luu) visited families whose relatives were in distress at sea after the ship sank to inform them about the search and rescue process for the crew members and to encourage and share the pain with the families.

To focus on searching for the missing fishermen, the Maritime Search and Rescue Center of Region 1 sent SAR 911 and Navy ship 636 to approach the area where the ship was in distress. At the same time, they sent signals and contacted by radio with fishing boats of fishermen Son Hai, Quynh Long, Quynh Nghia... fishing near the coordinates of the sunken ship to search.
Regarding the 9 rescued fishermen, after seeing that their health was stable, the authorities requested that the fishermen return to shore. However, witnessing their relatives still missing at sea, they asked to stay behind to join the rescue and search team.
It is known that on the sunken ship at sea there were 19 fishermen, all of whom were related brothers and relatives. Among them, there are cases where both father and son, uncle and aunt's children are missing.

As reported, at noon on June 28 at position 19 degrees 32.334' N 107 degrees 42.263' E (about 32 nautical miles south of Bach Long Vi island), the Pacific 01 ship was traveling from Binh Thuan to Cam Pha (Quang Ninh) when it suddenly collided with the fishing boat of Mr. Ho Ba Lam (born in 1981) - owner of fishing boat NA-95899-TS in Tien Thuy commune, Quynh Luu district, Nghe An province, with 19 crew members on board.
The strong collision caused the fishing boat of Quynh Luu fishermen to capsize, the boat floating on the sea surface. Afterwards, the Pacific 01 ship rescued 9 crew members, 10 crew members were missing.
By the morning of June 29, rescue forces had found the body of one fisherman and were continuing to search for nine missing fishermen.
