According to the investigation, on the evening of May 2, Duong Hoai Phong (20 years old) and Ngo Minh Khanh (18 years old) worked together at a fish shooting game shop in Ben Luc town. After seeing information about the shop being accused of "ripping off" and beating customers, the two went online to call on 7 other people (aged 17 to 25) to bring iron pipes and homemade knives to the shop on motorbikes.
They broke into the restaurant, smashed tables, chairs, and furniture, injuring the owner's father. After committing the crime, the group hid the weapons and deleted all online comments calling for the restaurant to be "punished."

Investigators determined that the damaged property was worth about 4.5 million VND.
Previously, on the evening of May 1, the couple drove their two children from their hometown in Ben Tre to Ho Chi Minh City, stopped at a shop and ordered two bottles of energy drinks. When paying, the shop owner asked for 60,000 VND.
They claimed they were being "ripped off" and got into an argument with the shop owner. The husband was beaten by four members of the shop owner's family, causing his head to bleed. The incident was filmed and live-streamed online by the victim, and many people were outraged by the shop's actions.
