9 authors were awarded prizes for composing songs about Uncle Ho and the Sen Village Festival.
(Baonghean.vn) - On the afternoon of August 29, at the Nghe An Provincial Cultural Center, a program to summarize the songwriting camp on the theme of Uncle Ho and the 2016 Sen Village Festival took place.
Attending the event were comrades: Ho Mau Thanh - Member of the Provincial Party Committee, Director of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism, Head of the Organizing Committee of the Composition Camp; Tran Quoc Khanh - Deputy Head of the Provincial Party Committee's Propaganda Department; and 19 musicians who are members of the Vietnam Musicians Association and members of the Nghe An Province Literature and Arts Association.
Under the direction of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Nghe An in 2016, the Provincial Cultural Center organized a songwriting camp on the theme of Uncle Ho and the Sen Village Festival to honor the ideological, moral and lifestyle values of Ho Chi Minh. This is also an opportunity to introduce new works to the grassroots art movement.

After nearly 4 months of organizing and launching, the Organizing Committee received 25 works from 19 authors who are members of the Vietnam Musicians Association in and outside the province. Of the 25 works, 2 were in response and 23 were in the competition.

At the closing ceremony, the Organizing Committee awarded prizes to the authors. Of which, 1 A prize went to the work "This world is only Uncle Ho" by musician Phan Thanh Chuong; 2 B prizes went to the songs "Back in the middle of lotus season" by author Vu Quoc Nam and "Bam lang ben Bac" by musician Pham Xuan Hai.
6 C prizes went to the songs: "Village Festival in May" (composed by Van The), "Uncle Ho's Good Children's Day" (composed by Xuan Hoa), "Returning to Uncle Ho's Hometown" (composed by Tran Quoc Chung), "Wandering Sen Village" (composed by Meritorious Artist Trinh Quang Thuan), "We Follow Uncle Ho's Example" (composed by Tran Viet Ky), "Vietnamese Mother" (composed by Quang Vuong).

In general, the participating works clearly expressed the main idea when honoring the moral values, ideology, and lifestyle of President Ho Chi Minh. At the same time, they praised the hometown of Nam Dan associated with the Lotus Village Festival.
Two responding works, including: "Remembering Uncle Ho on Kim Lien" by People's Artist Tien Dung and "Last Footprint" by author Tran Van Hong, although not participating in the award, were highly appreciated by the evaluation board.
