(Baonghean.vn) - Young boss Vu Ba Quy, born in the 90s, in village 323, Dinh Son commune, Anh Son (Nghe An) raises thousands of chickens. The secret to keeping the chickens healthy is that, in addition to feeding them a variety of foods, Mr. Quy also "wears glasses".

We visited Mr. Vu Ba Quy's broiler farm when he was busy putting glasses on the second batch of chickens of the year. Thousands of broiler chickens, including both roosters and hens, but 100% of them were wearing "glasses" which looked very strange.

Mr. Quy said: He started raising chickens in 2012. Raising chickens in large numbers often results in chickens pecking at each other, causing the chickens to lose feathers on their backs, necks, and heads, even causing injuries, making them susceptible to certain diseases, stunted, slow to grow, and making the chickens look "ugly", making customers picky about buying them, and reducing prices.

More than a year ago, he happened to see online that someone "put glasses" on chickens to prevent them from fighting, so he immediately researched. After knowing the address, Mr. Quy ordered 1,000 pieces to apply to his chicken farm.

Mr. Quy shared: He bought glasses for chickens at a price ranging from 600 VND - 1,200 VND/piece, and can be reused for 2-3 years, so the cost is very small but the effect is great.

How to use glasses for chickens is extremely simple, wait until the chickens reach a weight of 0.5-0.7kg, at this time the chickens start to show signs of pecking each other, Mr. Quy just needs to place the concave part of the glasses around the upper part of the chicken's beak, adjust the 2 small holes in the concave part of the glasses to match the chicken's nostrils, use an arrow-shaped plastic bolt through the small hole of the glasses and the chicken's nostrils to fix the glasses and you're done.

Mr. Quy affirmed that wearing glasses does not affect any of the chicken's daily activities. Because the plastic latch is only 1/3 the size of the chicken's nostril, it does not affect breathing or eating. Wearing glasses for chickens is to block the chicken's direct vision, so the chickens never fight or chase each other, and the chickens grow very quickly.

With many years of experience in raising broiler chickens, Mr. Quy built two chicken farms of nearly 500 square meters on an area of 0.5 hectares of garden. The chicken farms are paved with concrete, closed around to avoid wind in winter, have ventilation in summer and both use biological bedding, both ensuring the environment and helping the chickens grow and develop well.

In addition to wearing glasses on chickens to get beautiful chicken models, Mr. Quy chooses to raise them biologically, without using banned substances in farming, so the meat is firm and delicious. In addition to the main foods of rice and corn, Mr. Quy also adds other foods such as grass and insects to add more nutrients.

Currently, Mr. Quy's farm has 1,100 broiler chickens that are close to being sold. He raises two batches each year, each batch lasting 5-6 months, from 1,000 to 1,200 chickens. Each batch sells nearly 1.5 tons of broiler chickens, at a price of 90,000 to 100,000 VND/kg. Each year, after deducting expenses, he earns from 100 to 150 million VND.

Mr. Dinh Viet Hanh - Chairman of the Farmers' Association of Dinh Son Commune said: Mr. Vu Ba Quy's glass-wearing broiler farm in village 323 is a model of the Farmers' Association of Dinh Son Commune. At only 24 years old, Mr. Quy has been sharp and creative in economic development, helping his family overcome all difficulties and gradually become rich in a rural area that is truly admirable.
