9X Nghe An takes a risk to grow a 'noble' fruit on Lam River's alluvial land
(Baonghean.vn) - Considered a "noble" fruit, picky about soil, cold-loving, difficult to adapt to the harsh climate of Nghe An, many people have tried growing strawberries in greenhouses but failed. However, a young man took a risk and planted them on the Lam River alluvial plain and achieved unexpected results.

In recent days, social networks have been "feverish" with the image of a strawberry garden on the Lam River alluvial land (through Hung Thanh commune, Hung Nguyen district) with the nickname "miniature Da Lat in Nghe An", attracting thousands of people to visit and experience. This is the unexpected result that Nguyen Van Son (born in 1991) in Hung Thanh, Hung Nguyen received after 6 months of anxious anticipation since placing the strawberry seedlings on the alluvial land. “It took 3 years of experimentation, learning from experience, and only this strawberry season was successful,” Son shared. Accordingly, since 2019, this 9X has been experimenting with growing strawberries in parallel in greenhouses and on alluvial land, comparing the pros and cons of the two different growing conditions to find a solution. Planting strawberries on the alluvial land was quite risky and Son had to pay the price when the flood at the end of 2022 swept everything away. However, Son was not discouraged and was determined to do it with the desire to popularize this high-value crop to many growers at low cost. Photo: Thanh Phuc |

With initial success, Nguyen Van Son is planning to expand the scale of clean agricultural production using high technology combined with agricultural tourism, thereby creating jobs for local workers. At the same time, providing clean agricultural products to the market, creating more destinations for Nghe An people. Photo: Thanh Phuc |
