Runner-up Truong Thi May: '7 tycoons asked to marry me at an event in the US'

The runner-up revealed that she was asked to marry by 7 tycoons in the US when she participated in the charity program Understanding the Heart at the age of 22. However, she did not agree because she wanted to develop her career.

Truong Thi May appeared at the announcement of the AMI Smile Foundation for Children with her familiar style - a gray ao dai and long, loose hair. The beauty admitted: "Being able to contribute to a charity work makes me happy. When doing charity work, I am not afraid of difficulties, and I do not ask for a salary."

What good is it if I live a fake life?

- What experiences did taking on the role of ambassador for the children's fund and participating in the show about A-linen bring you?

- I was born into a family with a Buddhist tradition. Since childhood, I was taught to live by sharing what I have with others. Therefore, I always give top priority to volunteer work.

Receiving the invitation to the fashion show The Dreamers on October 13th made me excited because I contributed a small part to the preservation of My A silk fabric - a rare fabric of the nation. My A silk fabric is only black but very luxurious, powerful and durable over time, so if we know how to promote it, I am sure that this traditional fabric will be applied more in life.

- In her 10 years in the profession, Truong Thi May has always been involved in charity work and has had few outstanding professional activities. People say that she does a lot of charity work to make her name famous?

- I understand the Buddhist teachings so doing charity comes from the heart, never thinking about polishing one's name. I believe that the value of a person is their ability, way of life, and actions. Showbiz has a lot of competition and temptations, but that is the business of the outside world. As for my own work, I just do it. I just live up to my duties and responsibilities.

Being born with all my limbs is already lucky. I am even luckier because I have a good and favorable job. Therefore, helping others not only brings joy to myself but is also a way to accumulate merit.

- But being so absorbed in charity and not so concerned about money, it is inevitable that people will judge you as living a fake life?

- I don't say it doesn't mean my work frequency is not dense. I don't have the habit of showing off what I have done. I still try to work and contribute more. As for being fake? What do I get by being fake? Has anyone lived a fake life for the past 10 years without being exposed? I think living a fake life is like a needle in a bag for a long time, it will eventually come out, it can't be hidden.

I like a peaceful, simple life, so I live true to myself. I have been a vegetarian since I was 9 years old. Every day, I still read sutras and go to the temple with my family on weekends. My life is that simple. Why am I pretending?

- People say you build a holy, gentle image to be more valuable in the eyes of the rich?

- I have never loved anyone since I was little. Since entering the arts, my only goal has been to work, help my family and contribute more to charity work.

I have never dated a rich man. The Vietnamese showbiz world is very small. If I had dated anyone, the press would have definitely exposed it. It seems that any girl who enters showbiz receives rumors. So I have gotten used to gossip.

Don't want to get married to spend time taking care of mother

- Honestly, loving Truong Thi May was quite difficult because before reaching your heart, you had to receive your mother's consent?

- I think it's not difficult, it's just that the man has enough perseverance and sincerity to convince me. My mother never forces her daughter into a love affair. People say that forcing oil and fat is like forcing a relationship, no one can bear to force a relationship.

My mother just wanted the best for me. I had vowed to stay single and take care of her for the rest of my life. She supported me completely. She understood better than anyone the hardships that married women go through.

Truong Thi May confirmed that she wants to stay single and take care of her mother.

- Faced with offers from tycoons and businessmen, will May or her mother be the one to respond?

- Honestly, in 10 years of working in this profession, I am lucky to have never heard any indecent proposals. The people who love me all come from the heart. They want to marry me, not just have a fling.

There are many people who have feelings for me, but if I don't think they are suitable, I can't love them. My mother doesn't force them because they are rich. She said that her family used to be rich but then lost everything. So money doesn't decide everything, the most important thing is still how to live so that people love you.

- Why do you think of not getting married and staying single to take care of your mother?

- Because I understand the suffering my mother went through and saw the circumstances around her. You can't predict when fate will come. Before, when I went to the US to attend the program Understanding the Heart, at least 7 people asked to marry me that night. They met my mother and asked for permission. At that time, I was only 22 years old, too early to think about getting married, so I thanked her and refused.

- So what kind of man makes Truong Thi May's heart flutter?

- I think it's because the time hasn't come yet, so I'm still single. When it comes to men, I don't have a specific model. I dream of meeting someone who understands and sympathizes with me, has a generous heart, and has a good mind. And of course, if my mother agrees, then I will agree. My mother and I have the same thoughts.

- In work, life and love, your mother is always there, so many people say that you are not independent and immature even though you have been in the profession for 10 years?

- Mom is my manager, she understands me the most. I have to cherish the time she is still with me. Not everyone who wants her to take care of them can have her. Many mothers and children do not get along. As for me, I get along with my mother in both thinking and future direction.

Whether I am mature or not, I know best. Even without my mother by my side, I can still do my job. But with my mother as the best support, why refuse? I can hire assistants, but who knows if they will do their best for me, choosing the best for me. A company with maternal love will never lose, it will only gain.

My mother said that whatever anyone says to her is fine, but if they say anything to me, even a little bit will hurt her. What anyone says is not as important as the love between mother and child. Wherever I go, I want my mother to follow me.
