(Baonghean.vn) - The time to review for the 2022 high school graduation exam was a memorable experience, an opportunity for Pham Thi Tra Mi to challenge herself. And she excellently won the second place in the national C block with 2 scores of 10 in Geography and History, and a score of 9.5 in Literature.

3 months "sprint"

During her 3 years studying in the Geography class at Phan Boi Chau High School for the Gifted, Pham Thi Tra Mi was always highly appreciated by her homeroom teacher and teachers in the gifted student training team. In grade 12, Tra Mi won first prize in Geography in the Provincial Excellent Student Competition and she was also selected to be on the school team to participate in the National Excellent Student Competition.

However, on the day of receiving the results, what Tra Mi did not expect was that she failed the National Excellent Student Exam with a score much lower than she had imagined. This result made Mi disappointed, sad, and worried about her own future, especially when the time Mi received the results from this exam was already March and from then until the 2022 High School Graduation Exam officially took place, Mi only had more than 3 months to prepare.

Seeing that time was "chasing" behind her, Mi did not let herself be sad for too long, but immediately after that she made a plan to review for the most important exam of high school students.

This is also the exam that Mi determined to use the results to apply to universities. To prepare, in addition to the three main subjects for admission to block C: History, Literature and Geography, Mi also had to spend a lot of time reviewing Math, Foreign Language and Civic Education. Mi admitted that she had neglected many subjects because she focused on reviewing for the National team exam.

The journey of studying for the exam for a female student at a specialized school is not easy. The most difficult subject for her is History. Sharing about this, Mi said: Like many other students, when starting with History, we had difficulties because this is a subject with many events and data, and that greatly affected the quality of my work. At first, when I first started studying for the exam, my score was usually only 6-7 points and I was really confused.

To review for the History exam, I asked my teachers and friends to share their experiences and change my study methods. I didn't memorize and memorize mechanically, but studied using mind maps, summarized milestones and linked them with other subjects to make it easier to remember and understand.

Once I had mastered the basic knowledge, I started to learn how to do the test and persistently practiced the questions. I found the method of learning History taught and guided by the teacher to be very effective, which is the method of elimination to solve questions at the application level, high application level. For example, if you are still wondering about the answer, instead of choosing the correct answer, you will analyze the wrong answers, if any answer has no errors, then that is the correct answer.

Pham Thi Tra Mi shared

Mi also said that she had a hard time studying Literature because the knowledge of grade 12 is quite broad, and it also requires skills in recognition, writing, etc. "With only 3 months left, I could not memorize all the essays completely. Instead, I memorized the ideas and developed the writing flow based on my emotions. I also read a lot of reference books and read good essays by seniors so that I could learn from experience and apply some good sentences into my essays," Tra Mi added.

In this year's exam, Mi was most interested in the question about "the responsibility of the younger generation in following in the footsteps of previous generations", spending a lot of time presenting her thoughts. Personally, she believes that today's young generation, in order to follow in the footsteps of their ancestors, must first improve themselves, must know their strengths and weaknesses to overcome them. In addition, the young generation must know how to promote the traditions of their ancestors, actively participate in activities, and connect with the community.

10 convincing points

In addition to preparing knowledge, entering the High School Graduation Exam, Mi frankly admitted that her biggest limitation was her mentality, from there she tried to keep a strong mentality and overcome the obstacle of "failure" from previous major competitions.

In this year's exam subjects, Literature was the first subject and with a solid knowledge base, Mi completed her exam quite excellently. This was also a good premise for Mi to complete the exams smoothly.

The thing Mi was happiest about was the Social Science exam because right after reading the questions, she believed that she could do better than expected: "Geography is my strength, so it only took me 20 minutes to complete the exam and spent more than half of the time reviewing the test. I also only finished the History exam in 30 minutes. During the test, there were some answers that I was quite hesitant about, but thanks to the elimination method, I was more confident in my results."

Although she had somewhat guessed her score, when she received the official results with 10 points in History, 10 points in Geography and 9.5 points in Literature, she was still surprised.

With a very high score, Mi became the runner-up in block C nationwide and more specially, she was also the runner-up in the graduation exam of Nghe An province with 55.2 points.

In mid-July, Mi was admitted to the Party at the Party Cell of Phan Boi Chau High School for the Gifted. Photo: PV

After going through the exam with many emotions, Mi said that this was a valuable experience and she felt happy because finally her efforts received worthy results.

On the day of receiving her graduation results, Mi also received more joy when she received direct admission results from 3 universities, including her first choice, the Faculty of Chinese Language and Culture - Hanoi National University, the University of Foreign Affairs and Hanoi University. Mi has also just been admitted to the Party at the Party Cell of Phan Boi Chau High School for the Gifted.

Choosing Chinese Language and Culture, Mi will follow the path that her sister inspired and guided her. She also determined to study well so that she can study abroad and pursue her favorite major.

Despite difficult circumstances, the two Mi sisters both tried hard and achieved high results in their studies. Photo: PV

Before that, although their family circumstances were not very good, both Mi sisters were good students and were both students in the Geography class of Phan Boi Chau High School for the Gifted. Mi's older sister also excelled for 2 consecutive years by winning second prize in the National Geography Competition and is currently a student at Hanoi University of Foreign Languages.
