Egypt plans to move Pharaoh Tutankhamun's treasures
Archaeologists and conservation experts around the world have discussed the safe transfer of Pharaoh Tutankhamun's treasures to a new location in the Egyptian capital Cairo.

The Egyptian Ministry of Antiquities held a workshop in Cairo on May 7 to seek the opinions of international experts on the relocation of Egyptian treasures.Pharaoh Tutankhamun arrives at new exhibition location, according to AFP.

The aim of the workshop is to'Global consensus' reached on safe transport and display of Pharaoh Tutankhamun's artefacts.Methods of displaying the remains discovered in Tutankhamun's tomb, especially the remains of his two stillborn daughters, were also discussed at the conference.
“Moving a collection, especially such an important one, is a huge challenge,” said German Egyptologist Gabrielle Pieke. “It is a sensitive issue… We have to be very careful.” Pieke urged Egypt not to rush, and no date has been set for the transfer of the priceless treasures.
Since 2014, the removal of items belonging to Pharaoh Tutankhamun has become a sensitive issue after workers accidentally broke off the beard attached to his golden mask and glued it back together, angering archaeologists.
It took Egyptian and German scientists a long time to fix the problem and return the treasure to its original location after a year of restoration.
The tomb of Pharaoh Tutankhamun, who ruled Egypt more than 3,000 years ago, was discovered in 1922 south of the city of Luxor.
