The state news agency MENA quoted Maged Othman, director of Baseera, as saying that 40% of respondents "supported" and 23% "strongly supported" President Morsi's performance. Half of those surveyed said they would vote for Morsi, while 32% said they would not vote for him and the remaining 18% said their decision would depend on other presidential candidates.

A month ago, President Morsi's approval rating plummeted from 78% after his first 100 days in office to just 57%.

This public opinion poll was conducted by telephone on December 26-27 nationwide with 1,833 participants over the age of 18.
