Warm meeting of 60 years of Nghe Tinh traditional theater

On March 2, the Center for Preservation and Promotion of Nghe An Folk Heritage and the Nghe Tinh Traditional Stage Artists Association organized a meeting to celebrate 60 years of Nghe Tinh traditional stage (1959 - 2019).

In the opening speech at the meeting, People's Artist Hong Luu emotionally reviewed the 60-year journey of building and growing Nghe Tinh theater.

From an initial general art troupe, by 1959, the Nghe An People's Art Troupe was established amid the numerous difficulties of the fierce war period. Due to the need for specialization, the Troupe was gradually divided into 5 troupes (Cheo, Singing and Dancing, Drama, Folk Opera & Cai Luong).

During the 60-year journey, despite the difficulties in war as well as in peace, the artists have overcome, devoted all their minds, strength, talent and enthusiasm to the provincial stage with hundreds of plays, thousands of performances serving the masses and people; were awarded hundreds of Medals, Gold and Silver Medals; many artists were awarded many noble titles by the Party and State, including 3 People's Artists, 17 Meritorious Artists.

Many plays of the theater troupes are truly valuable historical theater documents such as: the cheo play "Co gai Song Lam", Nghe Tinh folk song "Mai Thuc Loan", "Famous people grow up from the folk songs"..., with value that lasts over time.

Over time, 5 theater troupes have merged into the Nghe An Folk Song Conservation Center. From the growth in the development journey, Nghe An traditional art troupes have made many positive contributions to the work of preserving and promoting the heritage of Nghe Tinh folk songs.

At the meeting, generations of cadres and actors of Nghe Tinh traditional theater together recalled stories of heroic years, sharing many valuable lessons for contemporary generations.

Also during the meeting, delegates enjoyed performances of many art forms such as cheo, cai luong, and Nghe Tinh folk songs.

The performances were rehearsed for many days with the passion and seriousness of the talented actors and artists of the time, making the ceremony even more solemn; also showing that to achieve today's achievements, generations of Nghe Tinh stage artists had to work hard and dedicate to the Nghe An stage industry their lifetime works and valuable folk song materials.

Also at the meeting, the Organizing Committee presented meaningful gifts to senior artists, actors and People's Artist An Phuc.

People's Artist An Phuc - formerly a Cheo troupe actor, now an artist at the Nghe An Folk Song Conservation Center, has made many great contributions to preserving the heritage of Vi and Giam folk songs as well as traditional Nghe Tinh theater.

He has just been awarded the title of People's Artist by the State; he is the third People's Artist of the province.
