Warm activities to support the poor and poor students to celebrate Tet

(Baonghean.vn) - Responding to the appeal letter of Provincial Party Secretary Nguyen Dac Vinh, so that the poor and poor students can have a warmer and more fulfilling Tet, many meaningful activities have been organized in localities.

* On the evening of January 7, the Party Committee - People's Council - People's Committee - Fatherland Front Committee of Thai Hoa town organized the program "Tet for the poor" with the music night "Spring with warm human love".

At the music night, the leaders of Thai Hoa town read the letter of the Provincial Party Secretary calling for support for the poor to celebrate Tet and launched the movement to support Tet for the poor in 2017.

A large audience came to the town's Cultural and Sports Center to enjoy music and support the program to raise funds to support people in especially difficult circumstances, the poor and lonely to celebrate Tet.

At the “Spring of Warm Human Love” night, the audience also heard touching stories of people with less fortunate fates; listened to many benefactors share their experiences in charity work over the years in the town.

This is the first time the town has organized the program "Warm Spring with Human Love", but 84 agencies, units, organizations, businesses, and philanthropists inside and outside the town have donated more than 850 million VND.

Currently, the whole Thai Hoa town still has nearly 1,000 poor and near-poor households and more than 1,700 social protection beneficiaries such as orphans, homeless elderly people, disabled people, and unfortunate people who need the joint efforts and contributions of the whole society.

In the past 2 years, 164 units, businesses and individuals have donated more than 2 billion VND to help, support and give gifts to nearly 5,100 poor and near-poor people, policy families, families in especially difficult circumstances and vulnerable groups.

* On the afternoon of January 8, the People's Committee, the Fatherland Front Committee, the District Police and the Association of Small and Medium Enterprises of Quy Hop District held a launching ceremony for Tet for the Poor Dinh Dau 2017.

At the ceremony, comrade Ho Le Ngoc, member of the Provincial Party Committee, Secretary of the Quy Hop District Party Committee, called on individuals, agencies, units, businesses and philanthropists to promote the tradition of solidarity and "mutual love", actively participate in supporting Tet gifts for the poor in 2017 to practically help the poor overcome difficulties and celebrate Tet in a warm and happy way.

At the launching ceremony, businesses and philanthropists registered to donate more than 2,505 Tet gifts to poor households (each gift worth 500,000 VND) with a total value of more than 1.2 billion VND./.

*On January 8, Thanh Chuong 3 High School organized a gift giving ceremony for students in difficult circumstances.

On this occasion, the school presented 128 gifts to students in difficult circumstances and poor students who have overcome difficulties. Of these, 100 gifts, each worth 500,000 VND, were donated by a former student of the school from Thanh Lien commune. The remaining 28 gifts, each worth 350,000 VND, were donated by the school's teachers, who each contributed one day's salary to support the students. The total value of the gifts was nearly 60 million VND./.
