The arrested man was an employee of the technical research department named Nishant Agraval with four years of experience. His colleagues commented that he was an excellent engineer.

Agrawal was arrested in a joint operation, carried out by Indian military intelligence along with Uttar Pradesh and Maharashtra state police, the TV channel reported.

"We have found very sensitive information on his personal computer. We have evidence that the suspect was exchanging messages on Facebook with users from Pakistan," said Asim Arun, Uttar Pradesh police chief.

Agrawal is accused of passing classified information to the Pakistani Federal Intelligence Agency, as well as to the authorities of several other countries. The suspect's personal and work computers have been confiscated and are being examined.

Meanwhile, some experts have expressed doubts that this employee actually had access to confidential data. BrahMos Aerospace has not officially commented on this information.
