In India, two 3-year-old twins drowned in a washing machine after their mother left them inside the house to buy laundry detergent.

The brothers’ mother, Rakhi, said she left the house for a while around 12:30 to buy laundry detergent and let the brothers play in the house. She had previously filled the washing machine with about 12 to 15 liters of water.

“Six minutes later,” she returned home, the children were gone. A neighbor called the police. Mr. Ravinder immediately went home to look for his children. Half an hour later, he found the two children in the washing machine.

According to the police investigation, the cause of death of the twins was drowning. The mother of the twins said that she had left a pile of laundry next to the washing machine, and it is possible that the two children climbed on the pile of laundry and got into the washing machine.

When the accident happened, the family's 10-year-old eldest child was at school.

The bodies of the twins were taken to the autopsy office.

The Indian Express quoted Deputy Commissioner Tiwari as saying that no evidence of foul play had been found, although an investigation would be launched into the deaths.
