What disciplinary action will be taken against Ha Anh Chien for his distorted whistle?

(Baonghean.vn) - With a very confusing and skeptical whistle from the "king of the field" Ha Anh Chien, SLNA had to accept an unfair penalty and leave the Central derby with only 1 point even though they deserved a win when they dominated the home team Thanh Hoa. Fans are waiting to see what appropriate disciplinary action the Disciplinary Board of the Vietnam Football Federation will take for this action...

Obviously, SLNA had to accept an unjust defeat due to the incomprehensible decision of the “king of the field” Ha Anh Chien on Thanh Hoa field. The act of “breaking the whistle” by this black-shirted king became “famous” when it became a highlight, a hot spot on sports pages and social networking sites. Everyone expressed their indignation at the absurd, ridiculous decision that caused public outrage.

According to Clause 1 (Situation), Article XIV of the Laws of the Game issued by FIFA, clearly states: “The referee will award a penalty when a player of the defending team commits a foul on a player of the attacking team or lets the ball touch his hand in the penalty area. It should be noted that this position is the position where the foul occurs, not the position where the ball stops. A penalty situation can also occur in two other special situations: the foul is committed outside the penalty area but the referee makes a mistake, or inside the penalty area but the attacking player deceives the referee into thinking that a foul has occurred when in fact there was none.” According to this law, Referee Ha Anh Chien made a mistake in the penalty situation against SLNA. Because, clearly, the point of contact between the two players was outside the penalty area.

The bias was obvious when before that, defender Ngoc Duc was "given" a yellow card in an unclear situation, while Baba had his pants pulled down by Quy Suu (Thanh Hoa) but was "ignored" in a confusing way. In the referee supervisor's report on the match between FLC Thanh Hoa and SLNA, there was a paragraph: The main referee did not complete his task because he committed a serious foul.

Thus, Mr. Chien will certainly receive disciplinary action for this incomprehensible decision. In Clause 2, Article 58 - "Referee Violations", it is clearly stated: "If the referee controls the match in an unbiased or dishonest manner, affecting the professionalism of the match, depending on the case and the level of violation, he will be punished.be fined 10,000,000 VND or/and may be suspended from duty for a period of time or until the end of the tournament.”. However, this is a serious violation, intentionally distorting the match results, so Clause 1, Article 54 must be applied, specifically: “Anyone who commits an act to distort the match results shall be suspended from the competition, suspended from duty for at least 04 matches and fined at least 15,000,000 VND. In serious cases, they may be banned from competition or banned from duty permanently”.

Mr. Ha Anh Chien also made an apology: "The situation happened very quickly and I was standing a bit far away so I made that decision. But I'm sorry, I can't say anything more." Obviously, the distance between him and the situation was only about 10m, which can't be called far, and what about assistant Cao Thanh Tu, could he not see anything?

Last season (Round 15, V-League 2015), this referee was also the subject of controversy when he recognized the goal of striker Dinh Tung (the ball touched his hand) in the match between FLC Thanh Hoa and HAGL. Also on Thanh Hoa field, the same "scenario" created a turning point in the final minutes of the match.

Watching the match on television, Head of the National Referee Board Nguyen Van Mui affirmed that it was a serious mistake by the referee: "There will definitely be a penalty. Ha Anh Chien will have to rest, but how many matches will we have to wait for the Referee Board to analyze the tape and determine the severity before making a penalty. However, we cannot announce the penalty because according to FIFA regulations, the Referee Board will consider and report to the VFF but will not announce it to the outside world."

I think the disappointment has been and will continue to increase if this type of referee still exists in our country’s football. There is an old saying, “a spoiled child is the mother’s fault” and it is time for the VFF to take serious action against the distorted whistles of “kings of the field” like Ha Anh Chien.
