Eating toad meat, 2 husband and wife died

(Baonghean.vn) - In Dong Thach hamlet, Nghi Thach commune, Nghi Loc district, a poisoning case just occurred after eating toad meat, causing both husband and wife to die.

According to the victim's family, at around 12:30 on January 11, 2017, Nguyen Van Cuong (born in 1960) and his wife Nguyen Thi Dien (born in 1962), both living in Dong Thach hamlet, Nghi Thach commune, slaughtered toad meat to eat.

About 2 hours after eating the toad meat (around 2:30 p.m.), Ms. Nguyen Thi Dien had a stomachache, vomited and went to find her husband to take him to the hospital, only to find that Mr. Nguyen Van Cuong had died at home.

Ms. Dien was taken to Nghi Loc District General Hospital by her neighbors for emergency treatment, but she died at 4:00 p.m. the same day. After the incident, the district authorities were present at the scene to investigate the incident.
