Prison sentence for two people who buy and sell white death
(Baonghean.vn) -On May 6, Nghe An Provincial Court sentenced Le Hung Son (born 1972), residing in Hai Phong, to 19 years in prison, and Phan Hung Nguyen (born 1993), residing in Huong Khe town, Ha Tinh, to 16 years in prison for illegally storing and trading narcotics.
The trial process clarified that on the morning of September 16, 2012, Le Hung Son and Phan Thanh Tung went from Hai Phong to Nghe An, rented a room at Tokyo III Hotel (Vinh City) with the purpose of finding a location and market to trade drugs. After stabilizing the situation, Tung called Phan Hung Nguyen, Tung's disciple in Hai Phong, to come to the room, took 25 million VND to buy crystal meth and then brought it to Nghe An. Listening to his boss, Nguyen took the money to buy 1,000 crystal meth pills, disguised them in a bag of lemon tea and immediately took a bus to Nghe An.
After having the drugs in hand, Tung discussed with Son and Nguyen to stay and sell while he returned to Hai Phong. On the afternoon of September 17, 2012, while Son and his friends were using drugs in a hotel room, the police suddenly appeared and arrested them with 1,000 crystal meth pills as evidence.

The forensic results of the Criminal Techniques Department of Nghe An Province Police determined that the pure white substance collected in rooms 801 and 703 of Tokyo III Hotel was synthetic drugs weighing more than 289 grams. Both Son and Nguyen were prosecuted for illegal possession and trafficking of narcotics. Tung is wanted nationwide.
At the trial on May 6, 2013, both defendants clearly confessed their crimes and asked the court to reduce their sentences. The jury determined that Son and Nguyen both committed dangerous crimes with large evidence, and needed to be isolated from society for a period of time to serve as a deterrent to others. The court sentenced Le Hung Son to 19 years in prison and Phan Hung Nguyen to 16 years in prison.
