The 5th International Landscape Photographer of the Year competition has come to a close, with stunning winning images capturing everything from ethereal mountains to dark forests.

Canadian photographer Adam Gibbs won the Photographer of the Year award (a prize based on a folio of at least four images). Adam won the award for his beautiful, eerie, and magical photos of forests around Vancouver Island. |

American photographer Paul Marcellini won the Photo of the Year award. Paul entered the competition with a single artistic image of tree trunks reflected in a pond, creating an optical illusion that makes it difficult to tell what is real and what is not. |
