He used a knife to stab his younger brother because of a bundle of sugarcane tops.

Tan Ky District People's Court has just tried a criminal case.against Tran Van Hien (born in 1970), residing in Hong Phuc Hamlet, Nghia Phuc Commune, Tan Ky District, for the crime ofIntentional injury.

At around 12:00 on February 7, 2022, Mr. Tran Van Hoe and his two sons Tran Van Hien and Tran Van Thang (born in 1989) and Mr. Thang and Mr. Dang Quoc Vui, all residing in Hong Phuc hamlet, Nghia Phuc commune, Tan Ky district, Nghe An province, drank alcohol together at Mr. Tran Van Hoe's house.

After drinking, everyone saw a sugarcane seller passing by, so Tran Van Hien and Mr. Tran Van Hoe went out to buy sugarcane. Mr. Tran Van Hoe bought 10 bundles of sugarcane, while Tran Van Hien bought 3 bundles of sugarcane and put them aside.

However, when bringing the sugarcane tops into the house, Mr. Tran Van Hoe mistakenly took 3 bundles of sugarcane tops from Tran Van Hien and left 3 other bundles of sugarcane tops. Seeing that the 3 bundles of sugarcane tops that Mr. Tran Van Hoe left behind were not as fresh as his 3 bundles of sugarcane tops, Tran Van Hien and Mr. Tran Van Hoe had an argument.

Seeing that, Mr. Tran Van Thang intervened and pushed Tran Van Hien back home. After returning home for a while, Tran Van Hien brought a sharp knife hidden behind his back and then returned to the gate of Mr. Tran Van Hoe's house to continue arguing.

After a while of arguing, Tran Van Hien pulled out a knife from behind his back and stabbed Tran Van Thang in the left groin.

After causing the injury, Tran Van Hien hid the sharp knife under the bed.

After being stabbed, Mr. Tran Van Thang was taken to the Tan Ky District Medical Center, Nghe An Province for treatment. On February 8, 2022, Mr. Tran Van Thang submitted a request for an injury assessment and requested the initiation of a criminal case.

The forensic examination conclusion on injuries of Nghe An Province Forensic Center concluded: The current rate of bodily injury caused by injuries is 02%.

During the investigation, Tran Van Hien forced the family to compensate Tran Van Thang for his health damage in the amount of 8,000,000 VND. To date, Tran Van Thang has not requested any further compensation.

At the Investigation Agency, Tran Van Hien confessed to all of his crimes. The defendant's confession was consistent with the documents and evidence collected in the case file.

At the end of the trial, the panel sentenced Tran Van Hien to 9 months in prison.
