The panel of judges determined that the actions of the two defendants were extremely dangerous and had taken the lives of others, so they decided to sentence Tuan Ut to life in prison and Ut Nho to 16 years in prison for the same crime.

The indictment shows that at about 10 p.m. on March 23, 2015, Mr. Pham Van Ha and a few friends drank beer at Mr. Thanh's house in Ky Son ward, Tan Phu district, Ho Chi Minh City.

At that time, Ut Nho's group was also drinking nearby, so this person came over to sit with them. However, after sitting for a while, a conflict arose between Ut Nho and Mr. Ha, but was stopped by everyone so there was no fight.

However, Ut Nho was still angry because he thought Ha looked down on him, so he called his brother Tuan Ut to come and beat Ha together.

Before Ut arrived, Nho picked up a 1.2m neon light bulb and brought it to Thanh's house to challenge Ha to a fight. Although everyone tried to stop her, Nho returned home and took out two homemade knives, each nearly 50cm long, and continued to go to Thanh's house to cause trouble.

At this time, Ut came and held a Thai knife and turned to ask Nho, "Who hit?". Seeing Nho pointing at him, Ha immediately ran away, but Ut then caught up and stabbed him in the stomach, causing him to collapse.

Mr. Ha died later, while Ut and Nho escaped and were arrested on May 24, 2015.
