UK calls on allies to boycott 2018 World Cup in Russia?
The British government is discussing with the US and its European allies the possibility of boycotting the 2018 World Cup in Russia in the context of the poisoning of former Russian military intelligence colonel GRU Sergey Skripal and his daughter, the Times wrote, citing sources from special services.

It is reported that in case a "Russian trace" is found in this case, a coordinated response including diplomatic, economic and military measures will be launched.
In addition to England, some other countries participating in the final round such as Poland, Austria and Japan may also refuse to participate in the 2018 World Cup.
"A range of options are being discussed," the source added, citing a senior British government official.
According to the newspaper, London may also propose to review the agenda of the NATO summit to be held in June with the aim of strengthening measures to "contain Russian aggression".
Earlier, the British Foreign Secretary said that if "Russian traces" were found in the Skripal poisoning case, London would have to reconsider its diplomatic and political representation at the 2018 World Cup.
