(Baonghean.vn)- In an interview on NBC, British Prime Minister David Cameron expressed his wish that Britain could stand shoulder to shoulder with the US to intervene more deeply in the fight against IS in Syria. And of course, that is only David Cameron's wish because if Cameron wants to take any action to intervene abroad, he still needs the approval of parliament.

On Sunday, July 19, British Prime Minister Cameron said he was discussing the issue, including with opposition parties. At the same time, Mr. Cameron also pledged to do everything possible to destroy the self-proclaimed “Caliphate” that IS declared in 2014 in Syria and Iraq.

It is known that in the fight against IS, although the British Air Force regularly conducts airstrikes in Iraq, in Syria, British activities are still limited to surveillance and intelligence gathering.

Earlier, on July 17, the Ministry of Defense announced that many British pilots had joined the US and Canadian military in airstrikes in Syria. This angered many MPs who felt the government had exceeded the authority of parliament.

On July 20, the British Prime Minister will also give a speech against extremist and conservative ideologies. According to a source from Mr. Cameron's office, the speech will mention "the need to eliminate the sources of extremism, especially IS". In addition, Mr. Cameron also issued a warning to people who are tempted by the 700 Britons currently fighting with IS in Iraq and Syria.
