The farmer raised a mutant orchid worth nearly 7 billion VND.
The orchid is less than a meter tall, with 5 white petals, and was sold by Mr. Tuyen (Binh Thuan) for 6.8 billion VND this morning.
The Han River Mutation Orchid Club (Da Nang) has purchased and exclusively owned the 5-petal Gia Hac orchid root, including 8 branches that have been cut out. The purpose is for members of the club to admire and exchange passion, care, and propagation methods...

Mr. Vo Van Tuyen (La Gi town, Binh Thuan) - the "father" of the above orchid - said that he took care of the plant for more than 30 months before it bloomed. What is special is that all five petals are white and smooth. "This type of orchid is very rare, this is the first time I have taken care of it," he said.
He also said that taking care of this type of mutant orchid requires hard work, meticulousness as well as risk acceptance. There are two types of mutant orchids: full mutant and partial mutant. A beautiful mutant flower needs to meet factors such as: round, plump, shiny. The "eyes" are scratched, neat, clean, far from the lobe and not smudged. The "nose" is whiter, more valuable. Normal orchids are not shiny and always have smudged colors.

Mr. Vo Anh Truyen, the club's director, said that Mr. Tuyen's orchid is a unique, rare species, highly appreciated by domestic orchid enthusiasts. Currently, this type of orchid is gradually depleted. This is also the most expensive plant that the club has bought so far. Previously, the club bought a plant for 2.7 billion VND. Mr. Tuyen's orchid is more expensive because it is special, the first in Vietnam to have it and it meets the standard of a beautiful plant, something only hobbyists know.
In the near future, the club will hold a ceremony to rename the tree. Mr. Truyen also said that the name of a mutant orchid is usually given by the person taking care of it.

Mr. Tuyen has had a passion for orchids for many years, especially mutant orchids. A few years ago, after hearing many people say that growing mutant orchids would bring high profits, but he had to accept the risks, he decided to sell his house in Ho Chi Minh City and his car to invest. After searching everywhere, someone sold him a "Gia Hac" orchid, which he has grown and separated to this day.
