Photo of 'giant dragon causing earthquake' causes panic on Chinese social networks
A photo of a snake has gone viral and caused panic on Chinese social media with the caption “giant dragon caused a terrible earthquake in Sichuan province last month”.
It took Chinese police nearly a month to investigate the photo that caused “massive panic on social media.” A 50-year-old man surnamed Zhang was arrested by police on charges of spreading false rumors and causing panic on social media.
Truong was identified as the person who posted the photo of the snake-like creature, but Truong wrote that “a giant dragon 120 meters long and 1.5 meters in diameter jumped out of the water, attracting thousands of curious people.”
