Britain to expel dozens of Russian diplomats after poisoning
(Baonghean.vn) - On March 14, British Prime Minister Theresa May announced a series of sanctions against Russia following the nerve agent attack on a former Russian spy and his daughter in Salisbury (UK) in early March.

The measures include the expulsion of 23 Russian diplomats, the largest such expulsion in more than 30 years. The prime minister said the diplomats were “identified as covert intelligence officers” and gave them a week to leave the UK.
Mrs May said Britain would also not send official government representatives to attend the World Cup in Russia this year.
Prime Minister May also announced that Britain would suspend high-level bilateral contacts with Russia, and revoke an invitation for Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov to visit.
The latest sanctions mark the worst deterioration in UK-Russia relations in recent years. Earlier this week, Prime Minister May stressed that Russia was likely behind the attack, which was believed to have used a nerve agent developed by Moscow, a deadly chemical weapon known as “Novichok”.
