(Baonghean.vn) -On June 28th, to commemorate Vietnamese Family Day, the People's Committee of Anh Son district organized a conference to commend exemplary and outstanding cultural families over the five-year period from 2007 to 2012 and to summarize the five-year implementation of the Law on Prevention and Control of Domestic Violence from 2008 to 2013. InOver the past five years, the movement to build culturally exemplary families in Anh Son district has received attention and guidance from Party committees and authorities at all levels, coordination from various departments, organizations, and enthusiastic support from the people. The movement has contributed to building a healthy cultural environment, improving the material and spiritual lives of the people, gradually eliminating outdated customs, superstitions, and social evils, and preserving and promoting a rich national cultural identity.

Furthermore, the role of the family in preserving traditional customs and values is highly valued, and the spirit of solidarity and mutual assistance in residential areas is effectively promoted in developing family economies, enriching the homeland, and ensuring political security and social order. While in 2007, the entire district only had 19,506 culturally exemplary households, by 2012, this number had increased to 20,181. Average income in 2012 reached 17.5 million VND/person/year. Total state budget revenue reached 32,643 million VND, social welfare was ensured, and the poverty rate in 2007 (old criteria) was 23.1%, while in 2012, the poverty rate (new criteria) had decreased to 17.4%.
Building on the achievements of the 2007-2012 period, the People's Committee of Anh Son District has set forth the following directions, tasks, and objectives for the coming period: To promote and encourage 100% of households to register for the "Culturally Advanced Family" program, striving for 70% or more of households to maintain and develop their status as culturally advanced families. Of these, 30% of culturally advanced families in rural areas should become wealthy through agricultural production and services. To promote and encourage 100% of villages and hamlets to register for the "Culturally Advanced Village/Hamlet" program, striving for many villages and hamlets to meet the standards of new rural infrastructure and facilities. To develop model communes and towns that meet cultural standards.
At the conference, the People's Committee of Anh Son district awarded certificates of merit to 21 outstanding exemplary cultural families for the period 2007-2012 and certificates of merit to 15 collectives and 5 individuals for their outstanding achievements in implementing the Law on Prevention and Control of Domestic Violence for the period 2008-2013.
