Mr. Son: Field workshop on BO6 hybrid corn variety

(Baonghean.vn) - On the morning of September 6, 2014, BIOOSEED One Member LLC coordinated with the People's Committee of Anh Son district to organize a field conference to evaluate the results of the BO6 hybrid corn planting model with the participation of 100 farmer members from 10 communes in the district.

Conference overview

Before the conference, the conference delegates went directly to Tuong Son field, where 100 hectares of BO6 corn were planted, to check the actual yield of the corn variety.

In the summer-autumn crop of 2014, Bioseed Vietnam One Member Co., Ltd. contracted with households to plant 8 tons of BO6 single hybrid corn on an area of ​​400 hectares in the communes of Tuong Son, Tam Son, Duc Son, Lang Son. Bioseed Vietnam Company provided specific instructions on the technical process of planting and care.

Initial results obtained from BO6 corn variety in communes in Anh Son district show that BO6 hybrid corn variety has good growth and development ability, the plant has a strong and deep tripod root system, so it is resistant to lodging and drought tolerant. Corn has the advantage of being compact, upright leaves, and non-rotted cobs, suitable for dense planting techniques to achieve high productivity, less susceptible to pests and diseases, suitable for local ecological conditions. The average growing period is about 90 days, the yield is over 6 tons/ha, reaching a planting yield of 2,400 tons in all communes.

In the summer-autumn crop of 2014, Anh Son district planted 1,200 hectares of corn, with an expected yield of 7,200 tons. For BO6 corn, practical planting showed that it was effective and suitable for the weather and soil conditions in the district. Speaking at the conference, Mr. Nguyen Huu Sang, Vice Chairman of the District People's Committee, acknowledged some initial results achieved from planting BO6 corn. He suggested that people, based on the actual conditions of the crop area, continue to plant BO6 corn on the fields in the coming winter crop.
