Anh Son: Workshop on the pure rice variety Thien Uu 8

(Baonghean.vn) - On September 15th, the Department of Agriculture and the Agricultural Extension Station of Anh Son district, in coordination with the Central Seed Company, organized a field workshop to evaluate the effectiveness of the trial production model of the high-quality pure rice variety Thien Uu 8 in Hoa Son commune.

During the 2015 summer-autumn crop season, Anh Son district implemented a demonstration model of the purebred Thien Uu 8 rice variety in Hoa Son commune on a scale of 1 hectare. Monitoring the growth and development showed that the Thien Uu 8 purebred rice variety has a fast growth period, suitable for the short-day crop structure of the summer-autumn crop season in Anh Son. In particular, Thien Uu 8 has a concentrated flowering period (3-5 days), rapid grain formation, and yields 61.2 quintals/hectare.

In addition, this rice variety has a wide adaptability to various soil types, including medium-deep and shallow fields, and yields high productivity.
