Mr. Son: Towards safe agricultural production
(Baonghean) - Determining that new rural construction is an important task in socio-economic development, in recent times, localities in Anh Son district have promoted internal resources, exploited potentials and strengths to create breakthroughs to reach the finish line.
Model diversity
Coming to Cam Son (Anh Son) this time, both sides of the road to the commune center are flat and straight, with endless green corn and tea fields. Farmers here are harvesting green vegetables such as squash, squash, eggplant... mainly imported directly from the fields for traders. In addition to 259.6 hectares of tea, of which 225.5 hectares are for business tea; along with 155 hectares of corn, Cam Son focuses on developing commercial vegetable crops, currently the whole commune has 64.5 hectares of area focusing on two main winter-spring crops, which is considered the main goal in economic development in Cam Son after the commune reaches the new rural finish line.

Mr. Dau Xuan Phu - Chairman of Cam Son Commune People's Committee said: As one of the first two communes to reach the new rural area target in Anh Son district (July 2015), Cam Son determined that it is necessary to link the new rural area target with rapid and sustainable development, striving to improve the quality of 19 new rural area criteria. It is a locality with many production models that have been formed and maintained sustainably in Anh Son district. Currently, Cam Son commune has up to 24 models of farms and family farms.
In addition, in Cam Son, hundreds of small-scale trading households and 25 food purchasing and transit points have been established, bringing the average economic growth rate to 15%/year. The average income per capita of the commune in 2015 reached over 28 million VND/person; the number of poor households is now only 11% according to the new criteria; 100% of households in the commune are equipped with audio-visual equipment, 11/11 villages have cultural houses and education promotion funds, the rate of cultural families is 88%, 9/11 villages and hamlets have achieved the title of cultural village, 2/3 schools meet standards. The security and defense sectors have been strengthened and maintained.
Safe agricultural production
As one of the three communes striving to reach the new rural finish line by the end of 2016, Hoi Son is located in the area bordering Anh Son town, with a strategy to develop new rural areas associated with urban industrial belts. In recent years, to create a boost in development, the commune has chosen a breakthrough by building new economic models to create a stream of safe, quality agricultural products aimed at the market.

Visiting the model of growing clean vegetables in greenhouses according to the food safety chain of Mr. Truong Van Hoa's household (Hamlet 2). The green nets are covered with melon plants. The model has an investment of over 1.4 billion VND, with an Israeli technology drip irrigation system and a raw material fermentation tank. After 15 months of planting, the model has now brought the first products to the market with a retail price of 65,000 VND/kg.

Talking to us, Mr. Nguyen Huu Dung - Chairman of Hoi Son Commune People's Committee, said: The commune has issued a plan to implement new rural construction in 2016, linking investment in building high-income models and organizing for officials and some households to visit and learn from highly effective models in Tan Ky and Nghia Dan districts. Actively transforming the structure of crops and livestock to bring high income value in production, renovating mixed gardens in households to invest in effective production...
Thanks to the good orientation and timely direction of the Party Committee and the government of Hoi Son commune, after only nearly 3 years, the whole commune has formed over 20 farms and ranches specializing in the production of plants and animals with high and stable economic value. Typical examples include the model of 10 hectares of 4-crop corn production on the land of Hamlet 2, selling corn as feed for dairy cows, generating an income of 62 million VND/ha, an increase of 15 million VND/ha compared to corn production for grain (45 million VND/ha); the model of growing 10 hectares of corn with additional crops on 2-crop land in Dong Truong hamlet generating a fairly stable income; the model of growing 4 hectares of disease-free oranges in Hamlet 10; the model of growing 150 red-fleshed dragon fruit trees in Hamlet 5, the model of mixed livestock in Hamlet 4... with an income of hundreds of millions of VND/year/model;... According to the roadmap by the end of 2016, Hoi Son commune will complete 19 criteria to reach the new rural finish line.
Promote the movement
In 2016, Anh Son district strives to add 3 communes Hoi Son, Dinh Son, Tao Son to the new rural destination. On average, 1 commune increases 1.5 criteria, the smallest commune increases 1 criterion, each department, office, and related unit directs 3-4 communes to meet the criteria of the sector under their charge, striving for the district to achieve at least 27 criteria in 2016. To achieve that result, the district's viewpoint is to strengthen closeness with the people.

Mr. Nguyen Huu Sang - Chairman of Anh Son District People's Committee said: The district regularly requires members of the New Rural Steering Committee to closely follow the grassroots level, organize inspections of communes in the New Rural Construction movement, especially communes that reached the finish line in 2016 and 2017. At the same time, propose and recommend to the province difficulties and obstacles, especially the approval of the addition of the list of communes meeting the standards in 2016 for Tao Son commune.
The district People's Committee has proactively issued policies to encourage localities in building new rural areas such as supporting 20 million VND/house to build a standard village cultural house, supporting 20 million VND to build a standard cultural and sports facility, 100 million VND/km of grade C rural concrete road; 75 million VND/concentrated waste treatment site. Along with that, the district supports concentrated livestock areas 30 million VND/area, newly established farms 20 million VND/farm...
Thanks to the program of building new rural areas, the lives of Anh Son people have changed significantly, eliminating hunger and reducing poverty. The poverty rate of the whole district has decreased from 21.51% in 2011 to only 15.3% now. It is worth noting that through building new rural areas, farmers have changed their thinking, learned how to organize production, know how to do business and develop by their own labor and resources in each village, each commune, each locality.
