Anh Son celebrates 70 years of Vietnam Sports Day

(Baonghean.vn) - On the morning of March 26, Anh Son district held a ceremony to celebrate the 70th anniversary of Vietnam Sports Day (27/3/1946-2016).

Delegates together reviewed the heroic tradition, the path of construction, struggle and growth of the Vietnamese sports industry in the cause of building and defending the Fatherland.

Every year, localities maintain good sports activities.

Promoting the tradition of the heroic homeland of Anh Son, in recent years, the sports movement has received special attention from Party committees at all levels, local authorities, and people in communes and towns in the district. Up to now, the whole district has planned over 100 hectares of land for sports training grounds in hamlets and villages; built 120 football fields; 284 volleyball courts, 105 badminton courts, 90 table tennis tables, 20/21 communes and towns have stadiums.

In schools, investment is made in building a system of playgrounds and adequate learning tools for students to practice sports. 100% of schools achieve physical education in the curriculum, 75% of schools achieve physical education in the extracurricular curriculum, thereby improving the health of students and discovering talents to nurture and provide athletes for competition teams at all levels.

After 7 sports festivals, Anh Son district has achieved high achievements, typically 2 Gold Medals, 2 Silver Medals and 3 Bronze Medals. At the 7th festival, it achieved 3 Silver Medals, 5 Bronze Medals and was highly appreciated by the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism for organizing the grassroots festival.
